Working with other council departments to deliver results

Depending on the type of business you have, you may need to get in contact with various different council departments. We can offer advice and support on who to get in contact with and some of the most common questions in each area. Below is a list of services within the council that you may need.

There are many opportunities for suppliers to work with West Berkshire Council, and we're particularly keen to encourage more tender applications from small and medium-size businesses. We publish all of our current tendering opportunities online.

Business Rates

Businesses who occupy a non-domestic property will pay business rates. The Online services are available through our council website along with any current reliefs or exemptions you can apply for.

Shaw House is one of the best preserved Grade I, Elizabethan manor houses in England. Set within tranquil surroundings on the north edge of Newbury, within an hour's reach of London and just five minutes from the M4/A34 junction.

Whether you're short of space, want a business venue closer to town or just need a short-term office, these rooms are perfect for cost-effective meetings. Prices range from £12 to £18 per hour and can accommodate up to 30 people.
